Country is possessed with the Scamophibia

Country is now overtly possessed with a fear called Scam, Be it the CWG scam, Adarsh Housing Scam, Karnataka Land Scam or the Mother of All SCAMs The 2G SPectrum Scam. It is heart-renching to see how appallingly helpless our judiciary is in front of the armtuisting of these political scamstars! After the CWG scam when the country eagerly waited for some punitive actions against those gamblers of hard earned public money, the govt. has simply washed its hand just scacking one or two top officials! but that is not enoungh, that can not bring back all the stolen money! Then there after the Adarsh Housing scam which even shaken the country about the dark reality of our prestigious Indian Army. Some top officials in liaison with some influencial political leaders even sold the last honour of our Kargil martyres! Is this how we respect our brave soldiers who lied down in battle to save our country? Even then just one more head turned in the name of Maharashtra CM Ashok Ahavan. While there are so many big guns involved in the scam, the govt. tried again to come clean by removing the CM who might be a scapegoat. When it was found the entire building was illigal so there must have been many other vested interest with the construction so why only the CM many other ministers and even promoters are suppossed to be  involved in the scam. And finally the biggest scam of current time, it surpassed all projection and people's emagination with the amount staggering as much as Rs. 1.78 lakh crore, the infamous 2g spectrum scam. there too is a absolute silence on part of PM and Congress High commision regarding prosecuting the offenders. After much dramma for two years PM was forced to show the villain A.Raja the door. but what next that is no way a fitting punishment for a scam of such a magnitude. Where is the fear? What is the compulsion on the part of govt. for tolerating such wrongdoing? is it just for coalition politics to keep every allay happy? of there are much bigger mystry behind this? the country wants the answer from none other than the PM who is believed to have a clean image.

"World Environment day", how do we mean it?

The whole world celebrating the world environment day with many zeal and gesture. But it's not the day of celebration but of awareness and  action. The time is ticking, the world is giving an ominous signal with every passing days. The latest report on climate change showed unprecedented decline of arctic sea ice, the maximum in over a century. The whole India is experiencing a summer that is breaking max. temperature records on every alternate day. Still their is no sign of monsoon, although met dept. expecting a normal or modest monsoon this year after a killing drought last year.

India as an agricultural hub of Asia still depends largely on monsoon waters for harvesting its crops. And when the cultivation decreases for lack of rain water, it really plays havoc on Indian economy and food inflation rises. Just like what happened last year round, thanks to the El-nino effect on weather pattern. But the underground water lavel in India is decreasing quite alarmingly thanks to mindless excavation of bore wells and deep tube wells. under this circumstances our policy makers should preserve the natural resources by restricting the misuse of ground water. We will have to turn to our natural reservoirs such as our rivers, lakes, ponds and water falls. The rivers of India must be dredged regularly to optimize its capacity, the rain water should be harvested and preserved for the future use and most importantly the sea water can be purified to make it consumable.

Today the mantra of the corporate world is to go green in all possible aspects. From the very building structure to the use of recycled paper the corporate world are slowly but steadily realizing their duty to the society and the environment. The real estate sector is going green by unveiling more and more environ-friendly building plans in India. By using fly ash, solar panel windows, natural cooling systems, water harvesting, recycling the waste, using cfl and other energy savers the many corporate houses doing their bit to preserve the nature. India has all the resources and promises to be a path-finder in the mission preserving the environment and saving the planet, it is now up to the political will of the leaders and awareness of common man that can change the way we look at the environment and its role on human existence in this beautiful planet.

India, let's focus on other sports

What a wonderful champion India has got in Vishyanathan Anand! He has made India proud once again by retaining his world chess chapm. crown for 4 successive times. There is no doubt, he is an undisputed champion of rapid chess. What a fighter! he snached the victory in the very last game agianst Topalov who was proved to be vishy's toughtest challenger till date in World chess Championship.

where on one hand this lone fighter was making india proud, our so called demi gods of a religious sport were making a mockery of all the love and attention they draw from a billion plus population day in and day out. Cricket is called a religion in India. And the bulk of the total budget on national sports goes only to worship this game. It thus deprive many other games and sportsmen of their part to gain standard facilities and infrastructure in India. the result is quite evident and obvious, we have to satisfy ourselves with one medal or two in Olympic games. It's a shame for a 2nd most populated nation who aspire to be the next super power. Hockey is our national sports, we all must have learned that in our primary lessons. But it seems only on books. where is the exposure, the hype, the investment for hockey in India? This game has given so many pride to the nation in the past is now dying a slow death!!

Football is a true International sports being played in most of the countries in the world. Where India stands in the ranking? out of hundred!! too not being precise. can't a nation with 1.2 billion people produce 11 world class players to qualify India into the football WC? The answer is yes, of course we can only if a little attention our govt. pays to these sports by attrackting more investments, building quality Infrastructure, and most importantly promting a love for other sports in the minds and hearts of the youths of the country. then we won't have to depend solely on cricket to be proud and to see the tri-colour flying high in many international stage.

Team India, a lion only in its Den

It's shocking to see our famous, much celebrated, star studded bating lineup crumbles under pressure in the T20 WC against quality pace attack. In the opening match of the super 8 stage Dhoni and co. looked a pale shadow of their actual selves. First and foremost they chose a wrong combination by excluding one bowler on a tack that has always proved to be a happy hunting ground for the quickies. Barbados is the fastest wicket in the Caribbean. This pitch has always has that extra bounce and carry unlike Indian tracks. So, instead of taking an extra pacer Dhoni relied too much on his part time spinners and the result was quite evident besides Bhajji all got a pasting in the hands of the two devastating pair in Warner and Watson. It was raining sixes, 16 of them!!! went extra miles after clearing the fence!!! what a rubbish bowling was that?

once it looked like the Aussies maight cross the 200 run mark but it didn't thanks to some smart bowling in the last four overs. 185 was a tough ask on any pitch but when there was such a tallented batting line up as India have it would not have been impossible. but it became impossible at the end thanks to some mindless shot selection at the top and that age old weakness against short and fast delliveries. The taits and Nannis took the skelleton out of our superstar batsmen.

Nothing better we can expect from this team which is being nurished on the slow, dead track of India for ages. That's why our pacers can't cross the 150 km/ph mark and our batsmen never learns to play short, quick, bouncy stuffs. They are truly Lions on their backyard but what to call them on overseas condition?

Maoists are not enemy of our nation

Maoist violence has now become talk of the hour specially in the eastern and northeastern region of our country. They are the headache of our home ministry and many state govt. agencies, police and the like. But why is there is much attention now about the Maoists? Because they have now become a threat to the state, ministers, cops, bureaucrats. These are the elements who for years kept the tribal, the backward community of the far flung, remote areas of the states under oppression, poor development, deprivation, corruption. At that time our ministers and bureaucrats were not at all worried about the well being of the downtrodden classes of the jungles. But later on when those hapless poor people found their back on the wall they retaliated and found the Maoists guerrillas as their savior, their messiah who could wean them from the atrocities of corrupt govt. officials in the villages of Bengal. Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand. thus Maoism got the boost and shelter they had hankered after for long to claim further ground for their mission. Primarily what seemed to be a non-violent movement got the fillip by the wrong step by the govt. of using force against them. In the mean time they started getting the support of some foreign powers to buy arms and ammo to match the joint forces of states. "Operation green hunt" is nothing but a snob, arrogant strategy on part of the govt. which has claimed many lives and will do in future on both sides. Who are these people those are being scapegoat in this narrow fight of conceit? they are our own people, the blood of our own brothers and sisters being shed for no reason!! Histry is the witness that only use of force and muscle power rather cause havoc and it never shows the path to resolve. So, it is better to get to the root of the problem and try politically and socially to persuade them to drop their arms with only asurance that there would be opportunity, development in their region at par with the rest of the country, the tribals would get their right, fair judgment, there will remain no oppression, no curruption in panchayet and their grievances would be heard and resolved amicabley.

India, a nation plagued by terrorism

God saves those who save themselves. This modified quote is perfectly suited for our country in the current scenario. This country is being blooded for over two centuries in many forms by many rulers. But what is most shocking and unfortunate too that after independence that violence has not stopped. Now our Independence is 63 years old but where is the respite from this bloodbath?
There are separatists & militants in Kashmir keep bleeding India every other day. And there are home grown terror modules like KLO, ULFA, Naxalites, Maoists, IM and many other small outfits killing India by thousand cuts day after day. Previously the terror was predominantly a regional problem for Kashmir and some other north-eastern states but now it has spread its tentacles all over India. Even in smaller cities like Baranasi, Kanpur, Pune, Hyderabad, Pondicheri, Goa, Jaipur are under terror network. After the Mumbai 26/11 carnage much have been promised by our govt. to nip the terrorism in its bud and protect the citizens. But still after one year slumber it reappeared in Pune and claimed so many young lives, so many dreams shattered, so many promises buried under the dust. Who is responsibilities for their untimely death? none other than our damn, corrupt security system. It proves govt. has not learned much from its past. Our home minister was very mean to say all public places can not be made totally fool-proof and all persons can not be frisked by person. It is a complete surrender by our honourable Home minister to terrorism. Can't he see what is happening in US and UK? has there any mentionable terror attack occurred after the 9/11 and the London terror attack. How can they secure their county for so long that we could not? Time is ticking and the terrorists outfits might be planning their next terror target in the country. It is time for the civil society to come forward and roll their sleeves up to force the govt. to act or perish.

China, A potential threat to India

China is showing its intentions clear by deciding to built its army base in neighboring countries. The new post in its official website has recently voiced the PLA's global ambition with the plan of building an army base in Pakistan territory. With the ever growing tension between India and China regarding border dispute this new ambition by PLA will certainly raise some eyebrows in the political spectrum of our country. This is undoubtedly a clear signal by China to corner India in neighboring countries. China already has its strategic presence in Myanmar, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Nepal, and of course in Pakistan. Thus, by developing a military base in Pakistan territory it plans to encircle India from all sides. Although to divert global attention China citing a lame excuse of curbing separatists movement in its territory bordering NWFP of Pakistan. But in reality it intend to corner US and other NETO Forces from its active presence in Pakistan. Pakistan on the other hand would be more than happy to allow its "friend, Philosopher & guide, China which is Pakistan's largest arms supplier and so called savior from Indian grudge to use its territory for intimidating their common enemy. So, be ware India, and be prepared for the challenge.
