Moral policing, an excuse for hooliganism
What is happening in our civil society these days? can we call it a democracy anymore? some lawless people will come anytime and vandalise public places and harass women at their will in broad daylight! where is the law and order where is police or they have just become pawns in the hands of political leaders? what happened in Mangalore a few days ago if not curbed can happen anywhere in the country tomorrow. this is a very grave situation our country is facing today. here we talk about the right of free speach and expression but on the ground it is violated by a few rowdies day in and day out. the govt has just become a silent spectator and watching these goons playing with country law and dignity. What is more shocking when asked about this base attack on the pub the Ram Sene Chief Mutallik proudly said he had no feeling of guilt for the act! it means they are proud of what they did. it is undoubtedly detrimental for any civil society in any democracy of the world. it is high time our govt whoever is in power in their respective region must take this as an alarm bell and act with immediate effect against those who commit these kind of menace under the umbrella of religious organisations. These culprits should be brought to the court of justice under any circumstances and even at the cost of vote bank and cheap political milage. otherwise the life of common innocent people especially of young women will be vulnarable and that may project a turnished image of our country to the world.
