NANO, the Small Wonder.

It is a car that surpassed every Indian car lover's imagination. it looks small but it has every potential to be the car of the middle class. Ratan Tata must be now a relieved man after launching his small baby which has undergone a long and difficult period of delivery. With the early spoiler of Singur land row which forced the plant to shift out of West Bengal many thought this dream of making world's cheapest car would hardly be a reality. But Ratan Tata is too determind a man to be bowed down by this small hitches. Fortunately he got a new ally in Narendra Modi, the Gujrat CM who gave the Nano a new shelter. But as all the machinaries has to be relocated the production of Nano's Gujrat plant will take some time to commence. But Mr. Tata can not make the world to wait any longer so he has to launch the car to catch on the global curiocity. Which he rightly did by rolling out the car from Tata's Uttarakhand plant. It was really a facinationg night at the Mumbai Jimkhana which was the venue of the curtain raiser ceremony to unveil the first Nano car. The car might be small but it had a grand launching party with shutter bugs flashing all around in the presence of many foreign dignitaries, journalists, automotive experts, celebrities and of course many curious common men who would be the potential buyer of the car.

To say about the specification of the car from a lay man's point of view one can say that it has got every necessary features which should be in a car in that price category. It has got enough space to sit 4 adult men comfortably, the hight is perfect, the most sricking thing is its safety. many had this speculation that the car may not be solid enough to run on indian roads. But it proved them to be wrong with its complete metal sheet body. moreover its petrol varient promised to give 20 km/l milage which is undoutedly very commendabe considering its price tag. The so called limitation of the car are its speed limit at 105 km max, it is bit noisy inside and it has the engine at its back. firstly in terms of speed it has to be remembered that the car is primarily built to operate within the city and not on highways. secondly in terms of noise it does not trouble much while you are on a sooth road, and thirdly we have seen so many high end luxury cars with a back engine in the past, that is no problem at all as far the engine position is concerned. as the demand is sky high already, so now its is to see whether it really become a winner in the global car market and becomes common citizen's first choice.
